L&J | October Wedding | Pacific Tower | Seattle Wedding Planner

LJ-Wedding225

L&J were referred to me by a major boss babe (shout out to Brynn of Dandy & Fine Parties!), but our connection was amplified by our shared love of dogs and, more specifically, volunteering. They built their vendor team in ways that would allow them to give back – using Farestart, a local non-profit, for catering, and delivering their beautiful floral arrangements to nursing homes/hospitals after their wedding day. Their focus on giving back also translated to their guests and every aspect of their day was built around ensuring that each and every person enjoyed each moment.

With the help of Brynn, L&J dreamed up a design for the Pacific Tower Panoramic Room that transformed it from a corporate meeting-ish aesthetic into a bright, modern celebration space with shiny art deco accents. Chairs were stylishly covered in silver pashminas, gold-framed boards displayed guests’ names on gold cut-outs with colorful tassels, clear ghost chairs lined the head table, and the stunning Smashing Petals floral designs were the star of the show on the crushed teal tablescapes. In a world full of (beautiful) pastel weddings, this wedding was a bold burst of flair and I loved every aspect of it.

Color Scheme: jewel tone hues – royal purple, cranberry, teal, navy
Favorite Décor Elements: globes with favorite quotes written on them scattered around the reception space, large signage taking over the foyer, BRIGHT pops of color in the flowers + tablescape decor to offset the overcast weather. And of course the built-in panoramic Seattle view decor element.
Favorite Moment: watching the blank slate room be completely transformed into a beautiful, colorfully sophisticated space, fit for L&J’s art deco/modern vision.

Cheers to Mr. & Mrs. Padley!

Elegant (adj.) – pleasingly graceful and stylish in appearance or manner.

People often ask if I work with couples who are planning from out-of-state and this is a perfect example: when they booked me, Jane was in Chicago at Law School and Jonathan was in New York, so most of our work was done via phone conferences. However, J&J’s incredibly kind demeanors, attention to detail, and eagerness to host a perfectly executed event made working with them from afar an absolute dream. Together, we made sure that their top 3 wedding wishes – excellent food & drinks, impeccable photography, and a smooth, enjoyable experience from start to finish – became a reality.

Although it’s been well over a year since their wedding day, J&J’s wedding is one I’ll likely never forget. The stunning Admiral’s House backdrop + all-star vendor team (see below for list), the carefully chosen little details (think lavender soap from Woodinville Lavender and fresh truffles from Intrigue), and, most importantly, the bride and groom’s attention to their guests’ experience, made for one of the most beautifully joyful events I’ve ever coordinated.

Forever grateful to my dear friend, Kelly (floral designer extraordinaire), for connecting me with this amazing couple!

A&K | October 2014 | Guemes Island Resort | Guemes Island Wedding Planner

"Folk & Lore | Wedding Photography"

On the night I first met Anna, Seattle’s traffic was at its finest and I was a half hour late. By the time I got to our meeting location, I was on the verge of a panic attack and figured there was no way this lovely person was going to hire me. Fast-forward to the end of our chat, when A calmly said “I don’t see why we wouldn’t hire you!”, which 10000% made my day and the rest is history!

This wedding was a TRUE labor of love for everyone involved and definitely my biggest challenge yet. Long story short, a couple months before the wedding, we were notified that the vehicle ferry that normally runs to and from tiny Guemes Island (aka the only way of getting to and from the island) was going to be out of commission the weekend of their wedding, leaving only the small passenger ferry that could not carry any type of vehicle. With 3 rental companies, a full-service caterer, a live band, and the rest of the vendor team coming over for A&K’s wedding, it could have been a complete and utter nightmare. Lucky for us, we were working with an INCREDIBLE all-star team of wedding professionals, who did everything within their power to make the process as stress-free as possible and the day of the wedding came together without a hitch (special thanks to Captain Dan, who let us use his barge to get everything there and back!).

I couldn’t be happier for this sweet couple and am so honored that I got to play a part in such a genuine, joyful celebration.
