Industrial Rooftop Wedding | WithinSodo – Seattle | A&J

How often can you say that you were best friends with the GROOM for almost a decade before having the honor of planning his wedding!? J and I basically grew up together, (bagging groceries at our local grocery store throughout high school and bonding over a love for Disneyland / him giving me pep talks through the drama of that period of life), so when he told me he found A, I was over the moon and knew him well enough to know right away that she was THE One.

I worked alongside this power couple for a year, planning + designing their Seattle wedding at Within Sodo. Our meetings typically took place at their home – where they would often surprise me with delicious home-cooked meals – but if a meeting took place elsewhere, the adventure would always involve detours to cute little places (shoutout to Rachel’s Ginger Beer!) before actually getting to our work destination. Not only are A+J thoughtful and two of the hardest working people I know, they are sassy, witty, and – most of all – FUN, which made our year together FLY by.

Every aspect of this wedding was curated to include A+J’s favorite things, but more importantly, every aspect we planned and designed was guest-centric. Their love for good food + wanting to create an inviting, family-style dinner atmosphere led us to Skillet for dinner and rainbow cake from Cakes of Paradise for dessert. Their love for good times with friends led us to beer pong on the rooftop (with listed House Rules, of course). There was no lack of laughter and every guest was clearly thrilled to be a part of the celebration. It was such a special wedding for me to be a part of – as a planner AND friend – and one I will never forget.

Can we do it all again, Mr. + Mrs. Numata!? So much love for you!!

Color Scheme: whites, neutrals, navy, greenery – rustic city vibes.
Favorite Décor Elements: the vineyard chair / white farm bench combination for the ceremony, creating an intentional, yet cozy seating situation in a small space.
+ Beer pong with rooftop views for guests to enjoy during cocktail hour and dancing.
+ Continuing on the Disney / FUN notes above, A+J incorporated Disney (specifically, The Lion King) into essentially all of their DIY signage and paper goods AND came up with a witty play on words for their wedding hashtag – #hakunaphamata – combining their two last names in place of “matata”.
Favorite Moment: A surprised J with a Chipotle burrito groom’s cake and J invited all of his groomsmen up to cut / take first bites with him.

G&J | Corson Building Wedding | April | Seattle Wedding Planner

Krisanna Elizabeth Events | Seattle Wedding Planner | The Corson Building | Photographer: GH Kim Photography

For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of coordinating a wedding at the Corson Building – aka a beautiful, secret garden-esque, Italian building randomly plopped right in the heart of Seattle – so my heart skipped a beat when I received an inquiry for a wedding there (from one of the sweetest couples ever). And for something I had built up in my mind for so long, I was far from disappointed. In fact, it was better than I ever could’ve imagined – not only was it an incredibly aesthetic experience from start to finish, the staff at the Corson Building blew me away with the level of care they provided to G&J, myself, and every vendor / guest involved.

G&J’s day took place on an overcast April day + was the epitome of the perfect intimate celebration: 29 guests, a shiba inu pup adorned with a floral crown, 4 courses of the most incredible food I’ve ever tasted, hundreds of stunning blooms, and gin + house-made rhubarb soda cocktails. Not to mention the kindest bride and groom + 1 kick-ass team.
This wedding was what dreams are made of.

Color Scheme: white, neutrals + pops of yellow
Favorite Décor Elements: the dark wood tables covered in free-flowing, lush, white centerpieces and real lemon accents.
Also, that exposed brick wall backdrop for their minimalistic 2-tier cake.
Favorite Moment: champagne toasts on the patio at sunset.

Cheers to G&J !!

L&J | Pacific Tower Wedding | October | Seattle Wedding Planner

LJ-Wedding225

L&J were referred to me by a major boss babe (shout out to Brynn of Dandy & Fine Parties!), but our connection was amplified by our shared love of dogs and, more specifically, volunteering. They built their vendor team in ways that would allow them to give back – using Farestart, a local non-profit, for catering, and delivering their beautiful floral arrangements to nursing homes/hospitals after their wedding day. Their focus on giving back also translated to their guests and every aspect of their day was built around ensuring that each and every person enjoyed each moment.

With the help of Brynn, L&J dreamed up a design for the Pacific Tower Panoramic Room that transformed it from a corporate meeting-ish aesthetic into a bright, modern celebration space with shiny art deco accents. Chairs were stylishly covered in silver pashminas, gold-framed boards displayed guests’ names on gold cut-outs with colorful tassels, clear ghost chairs lined the head table, and the stunning Smashing Petals floral designs were the star of the show on the crushed teal tablescapes. In a world full of (beautiful) pastel weddings, this wedding was a bold burst of flair and I loved every aspect of it.

Color Scheme: jewel tone hues – royal purple, cranberry, teal, navy
Favorite Décor Elements: globes with favorite quotes written on them scattered around the reception space, large signage taking over the foyer, BRIGHT pops of color in the flowers + tablescape decor to offset the overcast weather. And of course the built-in panoramic Seattle view decor element.
Favorite Moment: watching the blank slate room be completely transformed into a beautiful, colorfully sophisticated space, fit for L&J’s art deco/modern vision.

Cheers to Mr. & Mrs. Padley!

M&M | Golden Gardens Wedding | July | Seattle Wedding Planner

AlexandraCeliaPhotography-MeganandMarshall-617

I’ve literally had this draft saved for weeks. Photos chosen and placed, vendors listed, the best memories relived. But this part? Sheesh, it is difficult to write a short blurb about two incredible people who I have so much love for.

Megan and I have known each other since high school — we were those best friends who had an enviable amount of inside jokes and spent the majority of our time writing notes to each other and laughing ’til we cried. Fast forward a few years, and I’m convincing M that she does, indeed, need a wedding planner and that I should somehow be lucky enough to have that honor. And what an absolute honor it was… M&M are intelligent beyond their years and consistently reminded me what a real relationship looks like. I got to watch them work as a team throughout our professional relationship as we planned their wedding together, and have gotten to see them work as a team through the most difficult of life’s realities as they perfect their marriage. It truly brings me so much joy knowing that one of my dearest friends found her match… I would go back and do their beach celebration 1,000 times if I could.

Color Scheme: ice blue, white, silver
Favorite Décor Elements: pops of vintage furniture/elements against the bathhouse brick walls, the 10-pane window seating chart, platters upon platters of cake pops.
Favorite Moments: the look on Megan’s face when she walked into the bathhouse for the reception reveal, the incorporation of live music via the ceremony violinist + the cocktail hour band, and the overall love + joy that emanated between M&M — whether they were in each other’s arms or all the way across the room. Oh and Tux. On a. Beach.

To one of the most #goals couples out there — I cannot wait to see everything you do together, M&M!
